Do "Outros" Really Work?

So in the YouTube skate community, its a really big thing to have an outro of each and every video, asking for subscriptions and showing other videos of their own. Do other YTers do this? from what I've seen there are a few others, but they don't always do it. Here are a few examples:

Personally I find these kind of annoying, but does it really work? Do you use one?

Yes they totally work. My reasons:

1) If I like someones video, if they have a "previous video" or "next video" button, then I will be more likely to click it and its just easier to navigate to it
2) It reminds me to subscribe and, again, gives me better access to the button.
3) If a youtuber always has the same outro layout (music too), then it helps to brand their channel. like "I know its this youtuber and this is always their outro"
4) sometimes it has good music
5) reminder to find them on social media

Oh yeah it totally works! Definitely brings attention to older videos because they may have a preview to something other than what they just say and a nice big call to action telling them to subscribe! :)

Currently the video editor I'm using doesn't allow videos overlaying other videos, so right now I would be limited to just a "click here to subscribe!" and a list of my social links.

I'm the same but I just display the custom thumbnails of the videos I want to showcase and then I link to them via the annotations :)
