When I say that, I'm referring to audience retention. Our videos don't get that many views, but the average view duration is over ten minutes because many people watch them in their entirety. However, there have been several times where I can tell somebody watched the first 30 seconds or so before asking for a sub, then moved on. I hate this practice, because I'm proud of our average view duration and don't want it mucked up by people who are only trolling around for subs. If I check out a channel, I give them AT LEAST two minutes (generally more than that because I watch three videos or so) before making a judgement on whether or not I like it, and I generally don't even ask them to look at my channel if I don't intend to watch more of their videos in the future. As a community, I believe it would be helpful if we stopped trying to leech off of others' hard work and desire to help, and started giving people the same level of attention that we want them to give us. The golden rule needs to apply to YouTube!

Well said, you see a lot of people with hundreds of subscribers because they do sub for subs, but then when you look at their videos they only have like 30 views on each. I'd rather have a smaller number of subs that are actually interested in our content

Same for me, Noticed that people just looks at one video and asking for subs, and never hear from them again!

I hate people who do that - I think it's also made worse by the fact that some people just click on your video by accident and leave after a few seconds. That doesn't help at all.

With accidental clicks, I sorta understand, but I usually just open another tab and let the video run for a while if I'm not gonna watch it. No point in messing up someone else because of a little mistake

I've started doing that too, I think it can be quite disheartening to see that someone has only watched a couple of seconds. If I'm losing interest but want to leave a comment I'll keep it running while I write or hang in there for a bit longer.

Look at me i have over 2.6K subscribers on Youtube and my views on my videos are growing growing, going up and up all the time and all so i get lots of comments on my videos about my video, topic i done in my videos all that stuff.

And yeah Sometimes i get comments from people who are doing Sub4Sub but most comments i get on my videos are about my video and answers to my topics i do in my videos like "ANNOYING THINGS PEOPLE DO" or "READING THE DUMBEST TWEETS"!!!!
