Do I need to create playlists?

I currently have about 16 videos but have not split up the videos into separate playlists because i'm not too sure how beneficial that is. My videos are definitely related but can be categorized by DIY projects and baking recipes. What should I do?

I would say yes, if you have different content on your channel. It's needed for lets players to have playlists of play through. So depending on what your content is it's a good idea.

So if they watch one video that is in a playlist, then once the video is over a second video will automatically start on its own right because they are in the playlist?

So are there any disadvantages of having a playlist?

Yes, the video will automatically change to the second unless they've turned the option off. There is not really any downside to having playlists.

Not really. You might have slightly more short views because the viewer may not have wanted to see the next video when it autoplayed. Sometimes I find it annoying when I'm in the middle of typing out a comment that it jumps to the next video. I'm really stretching here, so I don't think that these are things you need to worry about.

Ya that's true. I just have to decide how I want to split up my playlists a lot of them are similar but different for example I can have 2 playlists 1 for DIY projects and the other for baking....or do i split them even more by theme. for example, one playlist for christmas recipes, another playlist for halloween recipes?

Do it both ways.

You can make as many playlists as you want and you can include a video in as many different playlists as well with one exception. If you designate a video as part of a series and place into a playlist, then you can't include it another. I think most people don't use that feature.
