Time will tell if this new channel redesign is good. What you should be doing instead of complaining is taking advantage of the time we have between now and the rollout day to design your new banner, organize your videos into playlists and looking over the channels that have the new layout so you can figure out how you want your channel to be seen. What does complaining actually accomplish? Nothing. I spent the last few hours redesigning my banner. I already know what I want my channel to look like with the new design. If my channel gets put on the new layout tomorrow, I'll be ready for it.

o.0 you guys monetize video's and use a ad blocker ?... and you wonder why youtube's going to new lengths to make more cash... a while back i was going to get a ad blocker but then i said to myself.. people watching my ads pays for new idea's to post on youtube and allows free website's to continue to be free.. so i didn't bother and can happily say i do not use a ad blocker.

I remove it for certain channels but frankly the likes of Pewdiepie, Tobuscus and JennaMarbles are raking in their millions without the $5 a week I might add for watching the odd video. I remove it for smaller channels though because I know it's tough.

I am just expressing about how much us small time youtubers mean to them. All the previous changes werent as big as this one really. I do know what you mean man and Kudos for being prepared ^_^

i still support all youtubers to help them with every penny (byby penny
) or dollar i can. I look at the projects rwj is coming out with on runaway planet and no how crazy expensive they are and even with all the money he is racking in he might be getting a lone to finish the projects.

Just a little hint to those of you complaining about the lack of a background. YouTube has requested that your channel art/banner be 2120x1192. The maximum size of the desktop banner is 2120x350. The logo area is 1280x350. So there's an awful lot of extra space being requested. You should be able to figure the rest out from there

Agreed. People will adjust and in six months when they change it again people will cry foul and want this design back. I just had a read of the petition linked in another post and several people are saying 'how are youtubers supposed to express their creativity?'
... I dunno, this is a shot in the dark, but how about through your videos? Just a thought.
I'm not saying the channel design is good. It's ugly and uninspired, but it will be mostly smaller YouTubers who believe that the current/old channel designs are the only way their videos are going to get noticed, and this isn't true. You could have the best, most innovative channel design in the entire world, but if people don't like your videos they likely won't visit your channel.
