Discouraged

yea had that feeling. still have tho haha. and its so annoying you go on facebook, twitter, forums, comment on other videos, spend a lot of time and still video doesnt get enough publicity.. then i allways think.. what if i was a hot girl.. or what if i made a video of me running thru the store naked. and then its like ughhh...thats just not me. :D

Its funny how you say that, I know more guys get views then girls along with the quick viral video will get you views but not real subscribers who want to stay for you're channel

True, I should reword that...I'm not saying you can't make money or go somewhere with it, but it isn't as likely as with film, because the people who do film strive to be directors in the industry

Yeah, it's more likely to make a living on YouTube than to make a living directing in the industry.

Not at all, you must have an odd definition of "living". I don't see you getting 100K a year making mediocre to decent vlogs

I don't see too many folks who wanted to become directors doing that either...

(And actually the official statement is that the number of channels making six figures a year is in the thousands.)

Do you honestly think that I would become a director making stuff only like that? It's about the versatility, being experimental and creative, trying new things and being original. That is what they look for. I made one video like that, doesn't mean I believe I will become a director from doing stuff like that at all...

I woke up one morning and found out one of my video's went viral thanks to youtube and it just kept growing, I have been getting a lot of comments about the way I speak and act and saying im not like " them other channels " from there on I have just kept growing people sharing on facebook twitter and more.

I'm neither talking about you, nor what your videos are like, I'm referring to your statement that it is less likely to make money off of YouTube than by trying to become a director...
