I Love YTtalk
Hello I want to discuss my latest "technique", basically I'm uploading my first ever "Let's Play", and this is gonna be episode 1 (the game is Spore)

Basically I don't want theese videos to fall into a pit, where noone will ever see them, and they never get a chance to hit semi-virality. Now Let's Plays are tough, I waited till I had 15k subscribers with making the first episode, and it's not that good either since I'm not used to talking to myself for 20 minutes.

Still though my plan is to not release episode 2 untill I have at least 10.000 views on Episode one, and the same goes for episode 2, so that I can continually make sure that they all have a chance of growing at least a bit.

Do you think this is too "view-hungry", or is it ok since it probably won't delay any uploads anyways?

Well as your getting that on some videos after two days, thats about right for uploading the next episode anyway so its fine :)

We've done stuff like this in the past where we had an episode (i.e. our "Brother's do Sister's makeup" video) and we wouldn't release the "Sister's do Brothers Makeup" until the video reached something like 50 likes. We ended up getting over 100. So yeah, I think it can work for sure. But I probably wouldn't do it for each episode, because as a viewer, it would be annoying to try and get attached to a seriese that might not even get finished because other people weren't getting the videos enough views.

The thing is, if I as a Youtuber with 16.000 subscribers can't get 10.000 views within a week, perhaps I need to think about my content. I believe I'll use this as a guideline, if it get's the 10k then fine I'll do another one. If not then I'll have to improve something.

If you take Pewdiepie for an example, he has 7.6 million subscriber, and gets a maximum 1.5 million view on a video / week or so... So I think you are doing things in the right direction.

Sure. You would obviously have to realize what you're capable of based on your audience. My point was, I think it's alright (and even a good idea) to sometimes push your audience to try and help you reach a higher goal than you might normally reach with a video. I wouldn't however want to put that strain on my audience week after week to sustain a video series. However, if 10k views for you isn't particularly high and you're not hitting that, then yeah, obviously it might be a good indication that the series isn't going to do well overall and it might not be a good idea to continue it. I'll be interested to see how it goes. Good luck!

I agree entirely, there's no reason for my viewers to get less videos, just because I'm not getting the results I want.
