Disabling youtube comments.

You have a point, but the fact that i might not get comments, or maybe they will all be negative :O

If you want to be on YouTube you will need a thicker skin. People are going to say bad things on occasion. It'll be rare, but it will happen. The key idea is to delete it and block that person. Disabling comments will make people wonder what's wrong with your video.

Hmm I never thought about it like that, you sure do have a point.

Another way to look at it is like this:

You make vids because you like them, and that's great. But why do you then proceed to upload them? Because you want people to see, and enjoy, the content. You want their likes, you want their comments. Disabling that means you may as well just make the video and leave it on your hard drive. The whole point of youtube is interaction :)

Ive always been disabling comments, and also for my future videos, I guess im to scared to see what people have to say, and scared of not getting any comments, Any tips of how to overcome this?
That's a great way to not have proof you have an active, friendly community.
You should enable the comments on your videos.

I just uploaded another video and i actually enabled and started to get comments, really exciting !
Good, because I don't understand why you would be afraid of what people say, you will get positive comments mostly, but you just have to suck it up if you get any hate and ignore it.
Good luck and I hope this is your start to become a more open YouTuber! :)

Just saw your comment and really made me smile, and I sure will for future videos leave enabled comments !

Whenever you make something, never ever curb the ability for someone to leave praise, critique or criticism on your work. This just shows you don't have a thick skin to handle even positive comments from both fans and passerbys alike.

With comments on, you can get feedback if you make mistakes in your videos and improve yourself as you learn to correct them, which is why feedback is important to any media maker.

I understand this, and I will be enabling comments on future videos, always thought twice about it, as for the praise its amazing to get, but when it comes to hate, not quite sure how i'd handle it.
