HEY LOOK! a distraction!
I dislike adblocker and the like and I am kind of disappointed in people for not being able to just sit there for like 30 seconds. It decreases the rev. from the people they watch and ya I would never use it

I get it varied. Sometimes I'm lucky and only get 1-2min ads and let them play in the background while I do something else or if I'm really lucky I get the 15-30 sec ads. But I've had 5min ads 3 times in a row before, just from watching SeaNanners videos, all 3 ads were from that Mike Chang guy as well. Maybe you don't watch YouTube vids as often as I do so you probably don't get the longer ads? I have had ads that lasted up to 10mins, they're usually channel ads of tutorials or god knows what, which I'm unsure of whether the content creator gets paid for it or not. I normally watch watch the 30 sec minimum and move on just in case they do get paid. I'm against disabling adblock while I'm against using it in most cases, I still think there are quite a lot of people out there that don't deserve the money anyways or place too many TrueView ads on their videos, especially some music channels who stupidly place TrueView ads right in the middle of a song... I don't know about you but when I'm listening to a song or music I don't overly enjoy when an ad pops up randomly ruining the music/song, it's similar to Twitch, I don't mind ads when they go on break but in the middle of a live stream? I don't want to watch a live stream just to miss out on stuff cause of an ad. This is why I like having the option to use AdBlock when I see fit. Google force things enough as it is. People need to be educated not just forced into doing things or else this will become the normal way things are done and eventually we'll never have options when it comes to anything. Some YouTubers have taken it upon themselves to set up paypal accounts for people to donate to, to keep their channels running. I suggest if money is a major concern for some to try that, not everything likes feeding money hungry scum corporationgs but donations via paypal are 100% profit for the content creators too, no 40% cut out. It's an option, options are good aren't they?Idk what 4-10min ads you are talking about but I think disabling ad block would do way more good than harm. People would not click off if every single video has ads. They would eventually get use to it. People always get p****d when youtube changes something they are very familiar with and like but then what happens? The majority of people adapt and get over it. I would be 100 percent behind disabling adblock on youtube.
Helps YouTube or the content creators? lol I wouldn't mind if I was still able to make a living off YouTube if ads got blocked, obviously not on a regular basis, I show my support as much as I can to content creators and do kind of expect similar in return. I'd much rather the views I would have gotten from the person who would have used adblock anyways as that view can help boost retention and help the video rank better and possibly reel in more people who aren't using adblock.Only the people who have been using Adblock in the first place would click off more, so in terms of ad revenue, that wouldn't be affected. In fact, if anything it will save bandwidth since people who get p****d enough to quit watching YouTube are the ones who Adblock in the first place. Unless I'm missing something here, it only seems to help YouTube in every way.
Just informing people of Adblock wouldn't be enough. Most people use Adblock because they don't give a f**k about content creators and just want to watch videos. I've seen tons of people who use Adblock and they always give the b******t excuse "YouTube is for entertaining people, not making money." I'd rather have Google block Adblock so that people start getting used to the ads and learn that there is nothing truly free than think they're entitled to saving that 30 seconds of their time they'd have wasted sitting on their a** anyways.I get it varied. Like I said, I don't use it that often in fact 95% of the time I don't use it, but I don't want that option to use it taken away from me. If I ever do get the opportunity to make a living of YouTube I'm going to figure out ways to inform viewers about how AdBlocking can affect me and then from there leave it up to them and maybe even create the PayPal funding to give people who hate giving corporations money the option to support me in other ways. Without getting intro trouble with YouTube xD
