digital camera or DSLR?

Hey guys! well 2 scenarios here!
I am going to be vblogging as well as filming my cats and ATVs

problem with DSLR, they dont focus as fast as point and shoots (unless you know of one) I currently own the nikon d3100 and pretty decent for vlogging, but when im out filming my cats or movement, I have to quickly adjust manual focus esp zoomed in

as for the point and shoots, I was looking at

it is the canon g9 x powershot (check it out on amazon or google) i was hoping someone was familiar with this camera? Or perhaps they know a really good high quality point and shoot camera where I can just carry in my pocket


if you look at my cat videos, you would see I have to focus constantly when they move, and yet the image is not 100% crisp

Yeah I currently have the same issue too. I have the D3200 and the video quality seems great. But I want to start daily vlogging and the point and shoots seem like a better option. The G7x Mark ii seems to be the choice of many YouTubers so I was thinking of purchasing that.

yeah looks like im going to go after the G7x Mark 2 i was also looking at the a5000 sony but not sure how the auto focus works say filming my cats or atving - any experience or recommendations?

I have the Sony A5100 as you can see in my vlogs, the auto focus is amazing and as well as the quality. I like it because you can change the lens as well. I was going to get the Canon G7X, but I know the auto focus isn't as quick as the Sony a5100.

I just subbed you have some pretty cool vlogs! and gym vlogs which I wish I had friends to do that with
where are you located and were all of them shot with the a5100? you should do an a5100 review lol

lol nice! im actually working on gym vlogs but what sucks is I have to record myself which is a bit awkward in my gym haha if I had a group that would be awesome! Darn if you ever come to colorado to vlog let me know

sweet I might be looking at the a5100 vs the gx 7 then looks like those 2 is what I am looking at problem is I am a 3rd shift worker so I get a low light settings and heard the g 7 canon is good for that

Hahah yeah I know what you mean man. You gotta find a gym partner and you will be good . A lot of people in my gym record themselves all the time so its no biggie for me lol.

Yeah it was very tough choosing between the a5100 and the g7x but I had to go with the a5100 with the better auto focus
