Did YouTube change e-mail settings of subscribers?

I contacted two of my subs and they told me that they didn't receive an e-mail when I uploaded my video. I checked it out and the 'notify subscribers' box is marked (you can't actually turn it off). I checked my subscriptions and all the 'send me updates' boxes were empty.... Did YouTube changed their default? If so, it would be could to refer to that in my next video so my subs will know....

Most probably they didn't but they do such things all the time. I went even to complain at the official YouTube forums and the top contributes there tried to convince me that I am suffering of some kind of selective blindness so I can not see the notification email in my inbox!
Anyway - the only way around is to make your channel bigger and more popular. Than the YouTube algorithm may start to behave a little bit more firendly.

Lol, if you go to info & settings under your video and then select advanced settings and you'll find it under "allow embedding".

Mmm strange, but what do I do? Shall I refer in my next video to the fact that my subs probably need to manually change the setting? And I'm working on the part to get bigger

Thing is your subscribers will always see your new uploads in their subscriptions but they won't get notified by e-mail if they don't check the mark themselves. When you go to anyoens channel and subscribe to them theres a gear box you open and a box to check to get e-mails sent to you. And i know i only do this to like 2 ppl i'm subscribed whos videos i always wanna see right when they upload idc bout the rest i'll just check others from new uploads when i do.

Yeah I found out that you have to check the box yourself. But it changed, at least in my case. I used to receive e-mails of new uploads of my subscriptions. But I'm not receiving them anymore and I found out that their boxer weren't mark whereas I received e-mails before.

Therefor it's strange to me!

i personally like it this way. sure you'd have more chances getting views from your subscribers but i wouldn't want myself to have my inbox spammed with new youtube uploads lol
