Did you have trouble finding your niche?

My niche found me. I had a channel for 8 years and was just using it as a place to host videos so I could show them to people. Then I put up a couple videos that took popular kids shows and made them look and sound creepy, just for fun, and it became really popular, so I decided to stick with it and I made my channel solely dedicated to that.

I don't feel like my tech channel really has a niche as such, its general tech. Although with me wanting to get back into making videos for it, I'm going to try to find a niche. With the animation one though, I was chatting with my brother about all the work that goes into animation and then I thought why not make that into a channel that does videos about how animated films are made, and only reviews animated films (which is more niche than doing every type of film). So that's how that channel was born.
I think general tech is still somewhat narrowed down. (Compared to my scatterbrained stuff lol) But I love the animated films focused one. That's really cool, I love animation!

I myself actually like having a variety in my Chatting channel
That was a can cover a range of topics that I am interested in
I do admit I use a lot of playlists but that is only for people to find the same interest as mine.

I don't think variety is necessarily a bad thing. It can be a great thing actually. For me, I just found a time that I really needed to narrow it down.

This is my third (and most successful) channel. It works both for me and my audience. But it didn't start off as what it is now. I followed what my audience wanted and ended up with what I have now.

I really like that bit about following your audience. Music is my passion, but my most watched video (by far) is a music cover. I think focusing on music is giving them more of what they, likely, subscribed for.

Ive kindof had a problem finding a niche as well, I currently do 2 daily uploads of lets plays for games, but now on top of that I want to make a different type of videos on top of the normal just lets plays. I want to be able to like do some stats analysis and game reviews but I feel like it would be to different that the content on my channel already. I dont know if I should start a second channel for it or if I should just post it on my current channel.

I think if it's still related to gaming you could keep it all together, but personally I've noticed I enjoy when the gamers/people who discuss games have channels separately. I like to watch Let's Plays if the mood hits me but not all the time. Having it separate let's those who don't really like Let's Plays still enjoy your game discussion content. That's just me though. Good luck![DOUBLEPOST=1519077333,1519077224][/DOUBLEPOST]

Now that's awesome. I like how it kind of narrows down for you like that sometimes. You never know what is going to stick!

Yep! And now, almost every single video I upload is one that has been requested by at least 3 viewers. And I've been uploading those requested videos daily for at least the past year. So I definitely agree with following your audience.

I have a problem finding a niche. I like to talk about everything so i end up talking about nothing on youtube. Which is holding me back, Because i dont know what to stick to. That probably is the worst thing that can happen. I like a lot of topics and areas but trying to build a channel talking about everything people say it bad. If you ever been to my channel you will see its all over the place. Anyone else have a similar problem ?

well... I had a clear goal since the beginning. Sharing my music with all content creators for free. I wanted to create a free source of background audio.
It looks pretty narrow IMHO but here comes the catch: I don't know if it even exists as a niche, or if people go on youtube to look for stuff like this. It's just a random dude posting instrumental music on youtube for no reason apparently, lol.
so I have chosen my niche but I really have not met it yet

Nah, my niche found me. I did never even intend to do anything art related. One day I was watching youtube animators, the next day i was one of them. I dont even remember how it happened to be honest lol.

For me it was clear from the very start what my niche will be.
I do camera equipment reviews and tutorials. The most "out of niche" things I do is posting my travel videos and other video projects.
But then, I also show what equipment I used so it's still kind of in the niche.

My first channel was a right mix up of stuffs for the first 2 years. Car stuffs / Family videos / Diet etc.
I looked back over the channel and considered what I enjoyed making most and what videos had most views and rebranded as a Car channel.
Since then I started several other niche channels and 3 of them are also doing ok. One is 'EVO' that I share stats on here.

I did for a while. I did numerous different types of videos over the years that my channel has been up.
I think I finally found something that I'm both good at, and enjoy doing, however.
I might make a twist on it and change it up eventually, but for now, I'm enjoying this
