I had this headset for a few hours now and damn, the white noise is bad. Any advice other than audacity noise reducing and turning down volume in recording devices?
 
Is it so bad audacity doesn't help? If you have a USB mic then it's noise from the fan or other outside noises. Otherwise the audio jack is dirty or you need to get yourself a new mic. It's an investment but a good USB condenser mic would definitely help.

Do you think a USB sound card would help then? This headset just connects to the jacks
