did you buy photoshop? O_o

I got mine through school prices but it was still close to $300.00.
I don't like to get pirated versions of software, but I can totally understand why people would. $600 on a editing program is a half a month worth of food expenses for me.

Have any of you actually bought photoshop? Its like £600 ARGHHHH! I have 8days of the trail left :( I might move over to gimp or do something on the interwebz (you know what I mean :) )

I use GIMP myself, not bad for simple thumbnails but I don't know anything about image manipulation. I DLed a cracked version of photoshop before and it crashed my PC so no more "free" software for me

I had a (very) old version of the Adobe Suite, and it had problems running on my computer, and I decided to use GimpShop instead. It has similar functionality as Gimp except it's better suited for people that are used to photoshop. I don't see any reason for having to buy Photoshop, it's the only adobe product that has an OpenSource freeware alternative, save money where you can, I say :)

Not too long ago you could download an older version of Photoshop, I don't remember which one, from adobe's website for free. I don't know if they'll do this again, but keep an eye out for such possibilities.

Maybe.

You can get free (old) versions of Adobe products straight from Adobe's website. It is completely legal, although obviously Adobe only wants you using them if you purchased the programs back in the day. Still, it's safer than piracy... ;)

I'm paying for an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription ..normally $50/month, but I'm paying $30/month for 1 year because I had a paid-for license for PhotoShop CS5 (which I got at a discount through a friend of mine who works for Adobe). With that I get the entire creative suite + free upgrades ... PhotoShop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc. ... it's sweet :D
