Delay best videos?

I'm not sure if this is logical, but after taking a lot of reviews and advice, I've made a new video but haven't uploaded it yet. I feel that it's a waste because I only have 18 subs. So I'm afraid that I will upload it, no one will see it, and it drowns out.. Even though it might be really entertaining (at least compared to old videos)
I have about 20 other videos I need to edit. Does it make sense to release some of the less interesting videos first to build up subs, or just release them as I edit them?

First off, you need to spend more time in post ;) haha Second I would say I get where you're coming from, but I feel like in general you aren't going to grow your subscriber base very fast at first, or possibly ever. I've been doing YouTube for two and a half years and I only have 65 subscribers, but I just do it because I honestly have fun doing it and making stupid/random videos is enjoyable to me. So I guess it sort of depends on what your goals are, if you're just doing YouTube because you enjoy it then I'd say post it whenever you want, and if you do get a lot bigger some day you can always reshare it on Facebook/Twitter/whathaveyou so that your newer followers see the video. If you're seeking fame or have the goal of becoming a big YouTuber (which there's nothing wrong with) then that may change your course of action.

But also, the best way to build a fan base is producing good content, so if you have a really good video then there's a higher chance people will share it on social media and you will get more views and subscribers because of it. I have some videos that have gotten a few hundred views (my videos that aren't necessarily a big hit but more average are more typically in 30-50 view range) because they were funnier and lots of people shared it, but that still didn't necessarily translate to subs. But it still got out there a lot, if that makes sense. And if you have videos that you don't think are as good, they won't get shared as much etc. etc.

I don't know if any of that helps haha but hopefully it does!

Your channel can not really grow until it gets at least one or two gateway videos (semi-viral videos). So I would say throw it out to the world and let's see what will happen. :)

I haven't been in the game for long, but I would think it's a bad move to delay the release of a good video early on. Most channels get most of their growth (or that initial boost in growth that causes a snowball effect) from one good video.

The videos are not doing you any good if no one can see them.

You've got every thing to gain, and nothing to lose, by releasing them.

Same as doing two videos back to back. No point in spacing them out for release. Just bang em out there so people can view them.

Of course you don't want to overdo this and flood viewers with videos, but a couple at once is OK.

Good reference to go by. I have had 1 gateway video by now, so for me it will be 2 or 3 :p

I wouldn't delay. Post your best, get the feedback, and always work on making your newest video you best!

It will just motivate you to get better and better.

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and posted it haha.. I'll definitely just do that from now on.
Great advice on these forums!

Sid, I just watched your latest video and thought it was really well made. Nice to see a new channel starting with such quality work. Keep tagging videos and share on social networks and I'm sure you'll see nice growth in 2016.

You've got one new sub here!
