DailyGrace and My Damn Channel "Break Up"

I think grace will be fine and will regain a million within a couple of months if not sooner. Don't underestimate the power of social media.

I feel tad bad for Grace. I'm a fan and as just a viewer I wasn't privy to the knowledge that she didn't have ownership to her content and what not. I can't imagine being told you must upload 5 times a week and talk about this and that. And just being labeled as personality. She's not just a brand, and obviously her decision to leave tells me she doesn't do YouTube for the money...We all know that if you're just doing it for the money well....yeah.

Well if I'm interpreting her latest gracehinabox video, her new channel is ItsGrace and starts Jan 6 so get excited.

I have no negativity towards MyDamnChannel. Grace agreed to a deal and that's the way it goes.

It will be a good case study to see how quickly a personality can start over on a new channel. I'm also curious how much her new presentations will change.

I think this is a factor that a lot of people are overlooking. "Daily Grace" was a show on MDC for quite a while before they brought it to Youtube. Grace was hired by a company to produce content and I assume signed a contract to work with them for a specified amount of time. Five years ago, I'm sure she had no idea how she as a brand would thrive and that she would outgrow the terms of her contract.

Not renewing her contract is a bit of a risk, yes. The channel and the content she created for it belong to the network and it sucks that she'll lose the numbers, but she certainly has a strong enough fan base to rebuild. It might be a good thing. The old format was getting pretty tired.

Her channel seems to be getting subscribers pretty quickly, and I saw Shane Dawson promoting the channel on his Twitter, so I can only assume some other YouTubers are as well, which is probably helping her out a lot.

I never watched anything from the DailyGrace channel, but I always thought she was funny when she collabed with Shane Dawson, so I'm sure she'll be fine on her own. It's just the starting over that must really suck.

I noticed it says she is not partnered. Wouldn't be surprised if she was in the middle of negotiating contracts with different MCNs. Hopefully not signing her channel away.

Trust me, there are networks that are very interested in her. With her popularity, she should go with a network that could get her brand deals unless she has a support structure already that can help her negotiate those deals without a network.
