DailyGrace and My Damn Channel "Break Up"

The way it should play out is whatever new network that gets her buys out the IP deal along to retain the channel-but she'll of course want full IP rights, which would negate any signing bonus and that leaves her in a bad position since she should command a 6 figure signing bonus.

The article is a bit short sighted by saying there are only two players for her. I see 4 potential suitors and I wouldn't be surprised if AwesomenessTV became a frontrunner.
 
@Gabriel Yes, she got into an interesting situation. Grace is the star of DailyGrace but she doesn't own the show.

While I own my brand, I am likely to not want to be tethered to a network while I make my next moves.
 
I don't understand. How can anybody sell their rights away to their own channel? What would be the point of it?

Damn that sucks, but she never started out that way. Her and her roommate were uploading videos independent from anything else on their own channels. mydamnchannel come to her and she accepted. She didnt' have to.
 
Interesting. She has all the power though, regulardless of who has the rights to her channel. 90% of her subscribers would follow her to anywhere she went anyways.

She has a network of YouTube friends she can do collabs with and she can quickly get the word out when her new channel appears.
