Daily Vlogging ... Best Practices?

LaneVids

I've Got It
I've been on YouTube for a while, and I've been daily vlogging for over 5 years now with my wife and my 2 kids. I have had some mistakes in the past on YouTube, and I think that that has not let me grow as much as I should have (I had to start a new channel after my first year of daily vlogging).

I was wondering if any of you guys had any tips for Best Practices for daily vloggers. I keep my content very fresh and up-beat. We try out best to get out and do something fun with the kids (although the winter months are tough). As far as expanding our audience is concerned, I try to engage with the audience that I already have to show loyalty in my vlogs, and I've been interacting with other vloggers that I can find. Do you guys have any other suggestions or best practices on how to keep an audience growing? What kind of marketing do you do?

I know that collabs are one of the best ways to grow an audience, but it's hard to find other YouTubers in my area; I'm in South Louisiana. Do you have any collab ideas for daily vloggers?

Thank you guys for reading this far. I look forward to your responses and other ideas to help grow our channels!

You already mentioned collabing with like minded YouTuber's, and cross promotion, so I'll leave that alone. One thing you should do is record, record, record! Do it often too! In addition to all that recording, make backlog videos, I think four days is a good amount. That way you'll always have content on tap if you need it, and it won't be so hard to get caught back up. Keep the process going, and just like with any video, make sure you can be seen, and heard clearly. @PressRecord do a great job of this, and you should check out their channel; it's the bee's knees. :D

Man you got 12000++ subscribers LOL!! Thats gr8!
People here do online collabs, sending videos to emails and participating in huge channels promotion, that earns them more sub!

PEACE :D

I've known Mike for a few months now. He's a cool guy. Are you suggesting that for a daily vlogger to record something that is not from the actual day? I'm kind of confused by your comment of "make backlog videos".

Yeah, that's what it means, to have a backlog of videos. Most vloggers do that, and put the date it was recorded either in the title, or the description. :)

It took a year of daily vlogging before we started seeing growth on our channel. I have nowhere the audience you do but I can share what I have learned and what I can contribute to our growth we've been receiving.

I know you share a lot of the same thoughts and practices that I do, but a recent change of my thinking patterns have helped quite a bit. Your viewers are not numbers, they are people who have said yes to you. By subscribing they have said yes to what you have to offer. So this means you already have more likely of a chance to influence someone. When making your vlogs you need to not only focus on making fun and exciting content, but you also need to make something that is engaging and something that your viewers can relate to. If your viewers can relate to your videos and want to be influenced by you then they will want to come back to help in one way or another. Whether it is to live a healthier life style, or live a happier life. By including them they care so much more and you can keep them for the long run.

Another thing I can contribute our growth to is working with other YouTubers. I recently met a few other local YouTubers and we have been cross promoting and working together on different projects to help one another. For instance right now we are doing daily fit bit challenges and challenging eachother to get the most steps. At the end we show which channel won the day and it's been a nice way to traffic viewers back and forth without actually being together in person.

If you'd like to chat more maybe we can come up with something fun to do =)

There must be a limited amount of people that want to subscribe to a daily vlogging channel. In guess it's because someone would want your video to end up in their subscriber feed. But, in order to find like minded people you probably have to become best buds with other daily vloggers that have moderate success such as yourself (12k subs... let me go cry in a corner with my 780... Just kidding, I don't care about the numbers too much)

Its great seeing another daily vlogger on here as well looking for advice and as a subscriber to your channel! Granted we are not in the same state, we'd be interested in doing a collab shout out trade. One thing I do love about your channel is your thumbnails and how colorful and attention grabbing they are.
