Cutting down on uploads

In our case we are uploading consistently twice a week, well honestly last December we are peaking up in views but after New Year until now views and view time are cut down to half. I am still trying to figure out what is going on or what to do, and I can't find a solution yet. I am already thinking if we need to upload videos everyday just like the big channels do but my fear is that it may not help us out because our channel is small and just started 3 months ago. Another thing I am still trying to learn is how our videos will be suggested by larger channels of the same niche.

It didn't seem to do much for us doing everyday. I am being suggested by several channels right not, not huge ones though.. I think we got lucky though.. but we arent growing a ton either so I dunno..We went down to every other day and now our views are finally gaining some speed again! Like some people have told me, try doing some trending/popular videos in hope of getting suggested! Hopefully us small channels will grow soon!

Yeah hope so. I will try to follow that advice too

Don't forget about viewer fatigue. My viewership is mostly 25-35 yr olds. I went from 3x per week to 7x per week, to 14x per week. Now I am 4x per week because it's the schedule I enjoy doing. I saw overall "views" climb when I was at 7x per week. I didn't see an increase at 14x per week. At 4x a week I am at 75% of views as 7x.

It comes down to how much time do people have to watch your content? Then if you release a video every day, and they are busy all weekend, on Monday there are 4 videos piled up, they can pick and choose and skip around. But if there is only 1 video on monday and the next video isn't until Wednesday, they are much more likely to find the time to watch that specific video.

So with less time put in via videos, and more views per video coming out, it has been a working combination. Ideally I would probably scale it back to 2-3 videos a week and improve planning time and quality even more. But so far I haven't been able to do that because the business attached to the channel has scaled so high.

An audience wants to see the best quality and entertaining video possible. Maybe reducing your upload rate from daily to every 2-3 days and works on making your videos better.

The channels that upload 1 a week or even fewer than that produce the best quality videos and the audience knows its gonna be good and thats why they get solid views.

I agree with what a lot of people have said in this thread. Maybe taking a step back and uploading every other day like you suggested could help build more anticipation for your videos. It may make your subs and viewers more hungry to see a new video youre coming out with, also it could give you more time to edit/produce more compelling videos. Even though your videos may be great now this could give you additional time to edit and think of new ideas. Hope it helps![DOUBLEPOST=1485181806,1485181436][/DOUBLEPOST]
What days are really best to upoad though? I do it Tuesdays and Fridays. Still observing it though i might still change my schedule

Ive heard monday-thursday is the best days to upload. when i upload on friday-sunday i barely get an first hour views on my videos. I think its because my audience usually ranges from 18-24 aka college students so friday-sunday night they are out partying, and dont want to watch gaming videos/dont have time. But monday-thursday they are probably laying in their dorm in between class or what not. But thats also for my channel. Take a look at your audience demographic and try to put yourself in their shoes and think when would you watch a video if you were them.

I was doing it mondays and thursdays before though it seems on my side mondays are slow. Therefore i switched to tuesdays and fridays after new year but from my observation it looks like my viewers only watch tuesdays to fridays then more slower on saturdays and sundays. So still observing don't know what to do yet. I don't want to upload 3x a week nor daily because i know my videos will pile up and some won't be watched.

Yea, I have come to find that upload everyday doesnt work unless you are a super huge channel.. my views are drastically decreasing since I have made the switch but oh well.. It was killing me and 50 views per video isnt worth it..

When did you made the switch though? Isn't it YT made a change in their algorithm this new year thay affecta us small channels?
