Custom thumbnails problem ( Fixed with possible reason )

Hey everyone as some of you may remember I couldn't have custom thumbnails however as of yesterday I can now use them. The only thing I can think of why they were now usable is that I hit 5000 overall video views. Any suggestions? I hope this helps any of you who yet have not to unlock custom thumbnails and are wondering why.

You must have linked your account with AdSence, if you monetize a video successfully you get custom thumbnails

Yeah I have monetisation but it took like 2 weeks before I got it so as that same day I got 5000 views I just though it may be that?

it was the monetization, my friend only has 1,000 total upload views, he has custom thumbs

That's just youtube being slow it took a day for mine to appear after monetization
