Cursing/Swearing in Videos...

I think that is why the younger kids are so bad nowadays. Because of bigger Youtubers who cuss a lot and the little kids are influenced by it. That's why I personally don't like cussing in my videos. I dunno why people think cussing is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny.

It depends. If you curse at the "right time" if you want to call it, then it'll be funny but just blurting out swear words just ruins the video in my opinion. I don't like to swear that much in my videos but if I do, I just add a bleep sound effect. I find it funnier that way XD

I generally don't swear... Unless I'm yelling at someone at the mall parking lot. But seriously, I don't really swear because I don't like to.

For me, it depends on how much swearing and how it is used for me to determine if it is something that will turn me away. RoosterTeeth always swears in their video and it can be funny sometimes but more than often I feel like they're swearing just to swear--it's too much for me.

I used to swear quite often, but I've phased out of it, now I just say minced oaths like "friggin" and whatnot. I'm generally put off if my first impression of someone is just a bunch of swear words

I don't cuss at all in my videos but that's because of my content and desired target demographic. In real life, it is a different story. Swear words are just words. When used appropriately, they can emphasize a point. Used too much, they lose their effectiveness.[DOUBLEPOST=1374624734,1374623931][/DOUBLEPOST]
Jerikane LIKED your post :)

b***h! Don't be liking my posts!

Badumbum :)

See, that's funny. You wouldn't see it coming :)

Swears usually slip out of my mouth sporadically during commentary, so my commentary is more PG-13 oriented and occasionally R if the F or S words pop out and used in the proper context such as being surprised or shocked.

Basically, do you think this turns people away? Or does it make videos better? (In some cases)

I think it's good if used when it's necessary. Shane Dawson is good at using it, but not over using it to the point that it's annoying. I think it definitely adds to videos. As long as it's not overdone.

Anyway, how about you guys? Do you/would you use these words? Also, does it turn you away from watching others videos if they swear/curse?

:)

I think it's fine to use.
It's interesting the difference between the 2 biggest channels:
Smosh - bleeps all their curse words
Pewdiepie - swears with no bleeps

Wonder why they have different approaches?

But swearing is part of people's everyday language - so if it's a "real" video - like Pewdiepie's reactions in his videos, then it's perfectly fine to use it...In my opinion :)

I usually don't censor myself, but I try not to overdo it at the same time. Although in my videos, I'm pretty much acting the way I normally do, and I don't normally swear like a sailor lol
