Currently use VideoPad Video Editor for editing, how is Sony vegas?

VideoPad is quite good from my experience so far, but I have heard that Sony Vegas is quite good, would it offer many advantages over VideoPad? Got enough money for Sony Vegas and hear it is preferred among Video Game Lets Players on Youtube, so just looking for some opinions here.

Hi friend, I also use VideoPad Editor and have used trial versions of other ones (not SonyVegas, but others in that level). The truth is Video Pad falls short on a number of things, one of the most annoying for me is the time it takes to generate previews, for example on Cyberlink Powerdirector it was almost instantaneous. You also have access to better effects.

I'm waiting to have the cash to switch tbh.

i find its just down to what your used to, for example even though theres alot of positive feedback on sony vegas, as well as the factor of me using camtasia for ever, i couldn't get to grips on sony vegas, however i will get to know the basics as i will look to move over to sony vegas :)

Sony Vegas to me is probably the best choice in video editing software. It gives you much more options and effects than videopad gives.

So i guess what i was trying to tell you and ended up forgetting is, it would be better to move over to Sony Vegas the sooner the better. :)

I'd recommend Premiere Pro over Sony Vegas. There's a steeper learning curve, but it's more useful (if you plan on learning other editing platforms ever) and has more features.

Its a tad of subject, but i cant help reading your posts in a spooky voice, its creeping me out.

Thanks for all the quick replies and opinions. I agree about the comment about the preview time on VideoPad, plus it is such a low quality wwithin it you can't really extrapolate and guess how it would look when it is all done. Shall get Vegas ASAP, I take it I can get it download from the website, rather than order from Amazon and wait a while?
