Creation Tools - Audio Library Question

I just want to clarify this new Creation Tools - Audio Library that's in YouTube now.

My question is, if I downloaded and use the music in this Audio Library from YouTube then I won't get any copyright strikes even if I monetize the video, right?

I know the answer is obvious but I just have to clarify it because I might understand it incorrectly.

Lol no you won't get copyright strikes. They wouldn't put it out there for free download if they were just going to strike your channel. You're fine to use the songs.

Another question, I see the songs listed but there's no other information shown. How do I credit the song?

Should I just mention the name of the song in the description and say it's from YouTube's Audio Library or I don't have to do anything?

I'm not exactly sure about that one, but I would leave the song name, and that it's from the audio library in the description just to be safe :)

I don't think anything will happen if you don't leave credit, as it doesn't say anything and many people probably won't (Since they probably don't know). I would just rather be safe than sorry.
 
Hi! I'm just wondering if the background music from the Audio Library can be used on monetized videos. I usually use music from Kevin MacLeod, Purple Planet, and ActivityMusic. Thanks in need :3
 
I was playing with this feature this morning and I downloaded a couple of tracks added them to some clips and uploaded them. Monetise options were there so I guess so. Seems quite different from the audio swap tracks available.

But did you monetize it? I'm still unsure because the Terms of Service doesn't tell whether I should or shouldn't monetize... :confused:
 
I didn't monetise it but the option was there. I would have thought it would recognise the track on upload and disable monetising options if there was an issue with that. Pure speculation though.

For anyone still worried you CAN monetize these songs. Really the only thing you can't do is sell the songs claiming them as yours or just give a direct download link to the songs.
It's in the terms here:

"Additional terms and conditions
Your use of this music library (including the music files in this library) is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Music from this library is intended solely for use by you in videos and other content that you create. You may use music files from this library in videos that you monetise on YouTube.

By downloading music from this library, you agree that you will not:


    • Make available, distribute or perform the music files from this library separately from videos and other content into which you have incorporated these music files (but not for standalone distribution).
    • Use music files from this library in an illegal manner or in connection with any illegal content."
