Copyright Question

Even if I don't have the permission shouldn't the owner be the only one who can claim copyright?

That's irrelevant. You can only submit a counter notification if you do have the rights to use the content. I'll take your answer to mean that no, you don't have the requisite permissions. You're making a hypocritical argument.

So following that logic I can start claiming copyright on youtubers who use a certain artist's drawings without their permission even though the artist might not mind people using his drawings? They'll be forced to ask the artist for permission in order to supply the counter copyright with a proof and if the artist decide that they don't want to give permission, the youtubers account would receive a strike even though no one made any claim until now?I don't want to sound mean but I'm asking for advice and I feel like people here want to crucify me.

Well you are saying that you don't have a license to use the video yet want to submit a notification saying you can legally use the video when you actually can't so..

Doesn't matter if he doesn't own it, which you can't be sure of, if he didn't then sure he was in the wrong to file a dmca claim but you're hardly in the right to claim you have sufficient permissions either :)

Sound as mean as you want, I have a pretty thick skin.

You're just not listening to anything we're telling you. Your job on YouTube is to worry about your content, whether you are following the rules and you can also make claims against those who use your content. It is not your job to attempt to police what others are doing. If you do not have permission to use content of a certain variety, then you have zero room to complain if a claim is registered against you. It is plausible that the claimant is the owner or license holder of the content, but even if that's not the case, obviously you don't have the required permissions to use the content in the first place. That's called copyright infringement. No, nobody on this forum is going to give you advice on how to circumvent copyright infringement rules.

As an aside, don't use the word logic when you don't know what it means. There is/was no logical correlation between saying you don't have the right to contest someones claim when you don't have permission and justifying or advocating false claims.

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by" this is what it says when I click on the video and I can't change the thumbnail.Like I said earlier everything in the video is mine and recorded in LoL.The drawing I used for thumbnail was taken from a Korean website.Could it be that there is a misunderstanding? Can you really get a strike just for a thumbnail?
