Copyright infringement process -- using legal name

EDIT: This has now been resolved with the copycat directly via private message.

Hi all, first post here although I've been lurking and reading for a little while to try to get to know the forum better. :)

My husband and I run a channel together and I've just discovered today that someone re-uploaded one of our videos to their own channel. I was about to start the copyright dispute process but then noticed that my full legal name and other info "may" be provided to the infringing uploader. I come from the school of guarding your personal info on the Internet -- although we do gameplay and LP videos, we don't show our faces on our channel and we do everything pseudonymously. So I'm just trying to be more aware of the process before I go down this route. Allowing my name and info to be given to someone I don't think highly of (considering they copied our stuff) just gives me a bit of pause.

Would appreciate any reassurance or guidance or advice on this matter, with thanks in advance.

I come from the same age, when everybody was anonymous and guarded their identity. That mindset seems to have changed the last decade. Can't say i like it much. People should be able to stay anonymous if they wish. Glad to hear you were able to resolve it without disclosing your identity :)

Never understood why people do that. I bet he's just going to go steal someone else's content now... *sigh*
