Copyright basics

Hi Is there a place where I can get basics about copyright in youtubing, facebook etc. I am from India, so answers from India POV will be helpful.

My question has 3 parts

  1. a) channel that posts original songs like - https://youtube.com/@lyricsmeaningxyz?si=eObK2riiH-ec4Hdz, how does this survive copyright ? I see songs audio just posted here
    b) Is it like if the song composer has died or song is some definite years old, its copyright ceases to exist ?

  2. Do FB & YT have separate guidelines wrt videos / audios ? I see movie clips a lot on FB - is that not affected by copyright ?

  3. Are shorts free of copyright ?

Channels that post songs/lyric videos either A) Get Permission/License from copyright holder or B) Just accept the copyright claim on the video and collect no revenue from it (Usually channels like that have external support sources like patreon/ko-fi to support)

I don't know anything about Facebook although I've heard their strict with audio that's uploaded there (Sometimes even the things labeled copyright free)

Shorts are not fully free of copyright although you can use the shorts audio library found in the shorts recording/editing stage.
