Converting your audience to different content.

I Love YTtalk
Hello everyone, I'm a gamer, however I upload mainly League of Legends content. I've tried uploading Let's plays, and the people that did watch it enjoyed it, I'd like to convert a larger part of my viewer base to also watch other videos than my League of Legends videos.

I currently release 1 League video every Friday, but I thought about also releasing other videos at random, and eventually subs will click on them and they will get more and more views. Some of the games I wanna feature are really dumb mainstream games (like every f*****g gaming channel out there, Garrys mod source based games, indie games, minecraft you know the drill)

Have any of you had experience with this!?

my channel use to deal with only rc products. i slowly worked in car maintenance and other home theater video's the few home theater video's i have released have ended up doing pretty well. as long as your doing your regular content i can't see your subs getting angry and the bonus content will help to hit other audiences and gain more fans :D

Yeah exactly, in due time!!!

i remember the first thing that caught my eye a while back from your vids was spore. i played that game allooonnnggg time ago and completely forgot about it lol

It's always good to branch out a bit with your videos. Focusing on one game will get you a pretty solid viewer base from that game but the demographic is relatively small, doing vids on other stuff as well will help attract the people that don't play LoL to your channel :D and I'm sure if you upload you regular LoL videos and don't massively over-populate your channel with other stuff(Meaning don't spam out 4 or 5 videos a day of other stuff) then the subs you already have will either enjoy the new content your putting out or even if they don't watch it, it won't annoy them enough to make them unsubscribe or stop watching your LoL stuff :D

I havent had any experience with it but I can imagine it being something exciting and fresh for them from you if they have only ever had League of Legends, some of the ones who subscribed to you purely for League of Legends might not be interested in these new games youre doing but if you keep doing League of Legends at the same time they will hopefully stay subscribed. As long as youre not killing off League of Legends and switching to all these new games I think it would go rather well. Good luck with it :)

Mention your other content in a LoL video, and ask the viewers to give it a chance. Chances are they watch it because they like you, so more you shouln't be a very bad idea, right? though be aware of how you formulate this, to not come out as an arrogant douche. unless you usually do that.

From what I can see you do League of Legends shorts mostly, which is what people want. Short little funny clips. Why not do montages of funny videos? I recently did a Gmod one, first time recording Gmod but I know my audience likes funny snippets! So that's there waiting!

Slowly bring people off just League or make a video explaining the changes and explain that on friday you will still be uploading league content :)

Also

DO A VIDEO WITH ME! :p

I think you hit the nail on the head![DOUBLEPOST=1379604461,1379604427][/DOUBLEPOST]

To be fair, I usually do that (as a joke)

Go for it! See how it works with your audience. You can also sort your content into playlists so those that want exclusively your Friday content can find with without having to sort through. Then there's no extra work for the subs you have now and the new content may bring in new people. Good luck!
