Contacting other YouTubers

Hey!

I am just curious how do YouTubers contact each other. I mean when they talk or discuss mutual videos.

Imagine if some highly-subscribed creators would be making a video together, where would they chat?

I think this topic will help everyone know what account should a YouTuber have for collaboration.

Basically, what signs that you have contact with another YouTuber?

Of course it can vary depending on certain groups of creators.

My guesses:

- Twitter DM (but it's not useful as a messenger so IDK)
- Facebook Messenger (sounds strange)
- WhatsApp (requires entering a phone number)
- Google Hangouts

So please share your experience on how do YouTubers contact each other xD

Thanks for your help:D

The 2 best ways I've found to reach out or be reached out to about a collaboration are through a business e-mail address which many have listed in their "about" section of their channel or through direct message on YouTube (for smaller channels whose DM inbox isn't already flooded). From there, Skype seems to be the chat program of choice for many when it comes to discussing collaboration ideas, business, etc...

Usually in my case is through a private message on Twitter, or on Steam if I have them on my friends list. They are the most likely places I will reply quickly, since I am often online on Steam and receive Twitter notifications on my mobile.

Thanks guys for replying:D

So the first stage is usually email or Twitter DM and then Skype?

Waiting for more replies to prove this or to tell something alternative

When reaching out to the larger Youtubers, I like to see where they're most active and least crowded. I met one on Twitch, another two through Patreon, and yet two more through my association with a certain Youtuber who has 300k+ subscribers.

I'd suggest looking at where Youtubers are most active according to the order of the website icons shown on their front pages on Youtube. The first one you see is probably where they're more active.

EDIT: That's not always the case, but people do tend to put first what's most important to them.

I have only come across one youtuber who had over 100K subs who didn't think they were too good to respond to my email. Seems like when a youtuber reaches 1 million subscribers they forget the fans who helped them get there.

I like to think of it this way: A Youtuber with 1 million subscribers has 24 hours in each day. If he were to divide it equally between all his subscribers, he wouldn't even have two seconds to dedicate to each of them.

Most of the big Youtubers don't ignore their fans usually, it's that they just are not able to give everybody the time they would like to. They also get swamped by requests for shoutouts, collaborations, and other things. Jacksepticeye even said he just cannot possibly get to all the comments in his videos.

That's the sad thing about being famous: You want to spend more time with people but the math makes it really difficult to pull off. It saddens me to hear people thinking they're being ignored for this reason...

Yeah right..... it just depends who's contacting them whether or not they'll respond
