Console Camera Recording?

Hi!
This is my first post, so if its in the wrong forum section, forgive me.
I wanted to start a gaming channel... again. The thing is, I wanted to record on xbox.
I have no capture card and I'm not spending 100$ on one if i don't know if i'll like recording on xbox in general.
I tried recording with my phone camera, the quality didn't seem ultra super bad.
I actually though it wasn't too bad for my first videos, then halfway through editing one of the videos, I closed it because it was eh. Maybe it was the game i was recording that got me bored, but i don't want to make a good video and get all angry when the quality's bad.
Do you think anyone would watch videos recorded with a camera?

It's definitely a turn off for me. Unless they're providing some kind of unique tutorial or fix to something I need I probably won't watch it. There are thousands of other people doing the same thing you're doing, but BETTER. If you're just doing this for fun and views and subs are not your focus go ahead. If you're expecting more from your youtube experience I'd say save the money and buy a capture card... Christmas is in about 3 months lol XD.

Oh another thing still make videos while you wait for your capture card. It is good practice and you'll learn of things you never thought mattered. Audio quality, video quality, entertainment quality etc. By the time you can get your capture card you'll be prepared to use it to its fullest!
 
You're right, what sucks though, I'm saving up for a new computer rn :P
Any recommendations for cheap capture cards?
 
It says you're 14 on your profile so I'll give you my experience on buying things in general. More often than not buying 'cheap,' isn't always a good thing. I've had my share of buying the cheapest thing for what I needed and there is a reason why they're so cheap! With that being said many people here would recommend capture cards that are at least $100. I have an Elgato HD and I have no complaints with it yet. What is also nice about capture cards is you can use them to capture your PC gameplay as well! If your computer is not powerful enough to run demanding games + recording software a capture card is a good work around. Capture card recording does pose other needed workarounds such as audio and such, but that's a different topic.

If you're currently getting a computer and it's a laptop you can kill two birds with one stone by getting a desktop instead. For the same price you can get a monster of a computer. You'll be able to edit easily on it and even record gameplay! Keep in mind the cost of a monitor among other accessories. I know it's not as convenient as a laptop, but you do get more possibilities.
 
I'm technically 15, its my birthday on 5 days.
I understand that cheap doesn't mean good, I have my pc and xbox in two seperate rooms and there's no way for me to move any of them.
I'm assuming Roxio is good.... right? I'll just save up for it, until then, I'll try to record pc games or vlogs, or something..

It's not bad, but it's definitely not that great, it's a budget Capture Card so it will have Quality issues though not that bad. If you're saving up you might as well save up for an Elgato or Hauppauge HDPVR.
