Computer build

I suppose, Thats why I also recommended the Z77, they are really not dear at all :)

It isn't the most expensive for sure, but spending a quarter of the build money on a mobo is a bit ehh..
He could most probably get something very decent for 100 dollars, and spend the rest on cpu etc ^m^

mother boards are the spine of your computer
cpu is the the brain
ram is the reaction speed
video card is your vision
monitor is your eyes
hard drive is your long term memory
cabling is the veins.
power supply is the food

cheeping out on one thing afects the whol body. here is some info on my build

$250 really? Over here I can get one for something like £100 :p

Do you plan on only gaming with it?[DOUBLEPOST=1370562459,1370562439][/DOUBLEPOST]

You can get muchh cheaper mobos that also support 64gb ^^

Sorry for the late reply. I plan on both gaming and video editing as well as screen recording.[DOUBLEPOST=1370597286][/DOUBLEPOST]
If you want to get a high quality CPU and GPU you will need something like an Asus Z77 motherboard, or even the Sabertooth X79 model, one of the best out there.

What would be considered a high quality CPU? Would it be the i7 models that intel has? And what about the GPU as well? I heard my friends mobo fried when playing Crysis 3, and I don't want that to happen...[DOUBLEPOST=1370597373][/DOUBLEPOST]

So what should the range of price for each parts be?

Well, for gaming and rendering my i5 3570k handles it fine, but an i7 would be much better, maybe look at the 3770k, also for the GPU, look at something like an AMD 7870, although Nvidia cards work better with Intel, in which case, look at a 2Gb GTX 660 and up :)[DOUBLEPOST=1370597629,1370597574][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well due to the differences in costs I can only give price ranges in £, and the prices don't just use the conversion rate, parts in America are cheaper than here, so I can't help too much there.

Thank you and everyone else, it helped me get a better idea on what I should be getting. :D

I don't know if you have any parts that you can reuse, but I've quickly built you something good on pcpartpicker
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/140rr
I've got that CPU, you can OC it to very very high levels (You'd need to buy a fan for that and not use stock)
The GPU is really good, if you can shop around and get a 7970 for around the same price or a bit more, you should go with it!
As for the SSD, Install your OS, Editing software and a few games on it, will load like lightening ^n^
Might update that build a bit later ^^

I'm going to spend around $1000 more or less.[DOUBLEPOST=1370646089,1370645934][/DOUBLEPOST]

I was thinking about this GPU:

ASUS GTX660 TI-DC2O-2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

But I don't know. What's good about the GPU you showed compared to this one. Because I don't understand the GPU as well.. :p

Thanks for building this computer for me. I can get an idea on what the price can be. It HELPED a lot. :D
