Comments: To Reply Or Not To Reply?

I reply to all comments. Even with a simple "thanks!" People really appreciate when you take the time to respond. It's the first thing I look forward to after I publish a video.

ooooh sheet music/piano tutorials, were you on Reddit Let's Play? I remember someone else on there who grew pretty fast because of that.

I just really want to avoid making unmeaningful replies(e.g. saying "thanks!" 4 different ways trying not to make it sound automated or something stupid like that)

I understand what you're saying but it's only meaningless from your point of view because you'd be replying to a lot people. But to the person receiving that reply, that'd be a unique reply from you to him/her. That might be the only alert they get on YouTube that day. That's what you want when you're growing an audience.

I once got a message from someone saying "Wow, thanks for the reply. I've been on YouTube for 2 years and that's the first time I've had a reply from a channel owner." (He then went on to watch every single video on my channel and comment on them) My reply to him had just been a simple "You're welcome. Glad you liked it.")

Nah, I never bothered using social media for my YouTube. But music seems to be more my thing than gaming videos.

@Crown
I guess so. I won't bother replying to old comments, but I'll reply to all the newer ones and future comments.
