Comments: To Reply Or Not To Reply?

I've Got It
Hey guys, my channel recently blew up over the summer and I went from like 200 subscribers to 796, I expect to reach the 800 subscriber milestone within 6 hours.
I used to reply to every single comment, but now I don't know if it's worth replying to all of them. I'm not super famous so I could still manage too, but for the past two months or so I've only replied to certain comments. I might reply to more comments but right now I'm not sure what's better. I now have ~600 comments on my most popular video and I'd rather not go reply to them.
What do you guys do? How often do you try to reply to comments on your videos?

If Roberto Blake was able to reply to almost all his comments when he had 100k subscribers, there's no excuses for anyone under 10k. You don't need to write a paragraph back to each person.

I reply to all my comments but i rarely get any. I would say just reply to the ones you want to reply to

I would reply to all my comments if it weren't for so many of them being people that want to prove that I am wrong (without evidence). I make fitness videos where I back my claims with scientific evidence. I get a huge amount of people everyday telling me I'm wrong but they're unwilling to provide any evidence to show that I'm wrong. It's no fun debating with people that aren't willing to show half the work that I do.

It always bemuses me that many YouTubers who, when they were still "small" complained that they didn't get any comments but then once they start getting some comments, don't bother replying to them.

Replying to comments is one of the best ways of getting loyal, active subs and viewers. It's also great for branding because every time you reply (however short), the person receives an alert with your channel name and logo on it. Over time, that has a significant effect.

I reply to everyone, even if it's just a simple, "Thank you for watching!" You don't have to get into really long conversations in your comments, but people really appreciate acknowledgement.

I just really want to avoid making unmeaningful replies(e.g. saying "thanks!" 4 different ways trying not to make it sound automated or something stupid like that)
Anyway I'll start replying to comments again, and see where that lands me.

I usually reply to most comments, especially if they ask something, or type something more meaningful than "lol wat"
dont reply to spam or to 1 or 2 word comments.
when posting a video it's good to reply to all comments for as long as you can :)

Try to reply to as many as you can. If you eventually get to a point where you are unable due to time restrictions, then scale back - perhaps only replay to the top XX highest rated comments, or however many of the oldest comments you can, etc...
