Commenting Too Much?

xingcat

Be good to self.
Whenever I watch someone's video (and I watch a lot of videos, because my job requires me to be on a screen during a lot of boring stuff, like moderating forums and uploading large files), I try to be polite and leave a comment of some sort. I've had a few people who've seen me around on YouTube say, "I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE!" which makes me slightly self-conscious, since I don't want to be considered a pest.

Then I worry that maybe the creators may not want the same guy commenting on every video they post. I don't mind it, and I really like seeing the same group of people to chat with in comments each time I post a video, but maybe it'd seem like too much for some people.

Any thoughts on this?

Personally....
I love people that comment on many videos of mine.. Because they take time to see and comment my videos!! :inlove22:

Don't worry, I comment a lot and there's a couple of people who don't like it from what I see
But it doesn't matter to me and almost always the replies to my comments are positive so it's all good

I feel like it's a pretty unfair to say something like "I see you everywhere". It's not like you are promoting on other people's content. You're genuinely interacting and commenting on someone else's video so it shouldn't matter if you do that often. I have someone who comments on my videos consistently and it's gotten to the point where it not only motivates me but I consider that dude a friend. Point I am trying to make is that I feel like there is nothing wrong with what you are doing!

I can completely see why you'd be self-conscious. I don't comment very often, but I would worry if someone said that to me! Thaaaaaat being said, I worry about everything and am usually convinced something or other is out to get me, so don't listen to this girl, she's nuts!

Seriously, though - if I had someone commenting on all my stuff, I'd honestly be flattered. As smaller YouTubers, it's easier for us to appreciate the "die-hard" fans (if any), because we don't get them that often. But you'll find that a lot of the bigger names in the business still have the same thought process - so I wouldn't worry about it too much, honey.

The only time I've ever seen a YouTuber complain about excessive comments (aside from haters) is when the spambots come rollin' in.

for small channels i don't see how creator's wouldn't love you (or anyone) commenting on many of their videos. One of the best parts is reading comments or having a discussion with someone. For the bigger channels also don't think they would find it annoying (they probably can't find it since they get so many comments i doubt they actually can read it even if they wanted to).

As long as you're not constantly promoting your channel it's absolutely fine! sounds to me like you are just commenting genuine compliments, which is lovely :) I can see why you have got a bit paranoid though I would be the same!
I often watch the videos of people like top 5 unknowns, dark5 etc and there is one account called top10s who comments on everyone of their videos and gets a LOT of hate for it, everyone just calls them a spammer, when in reality they are just randomly commenting things and not actually promoting their channel, but everyone presumes that is what they are doing, with the constant comments, however they have got about 60k subs so not doing too badly but do feel sorry for the guy!
It's really not a bad thing though

As long as your comments are genuine and no for self-promotion, it's cool to comment as much as you like...viewer engagement is good. Don't listen to the haters.

One of the things I make sure to NEVER EVER do is mention my channel. I think that's just not the time or place to self-promote, and I really dislike it when I see someone who obviously hasn't watched a second of my video pop in to say something and then just so "casually" mention their channel. Channels are linked right from the comments...if someone thinks you're awesome, they'll click through to see if you've uploaded content!

Thanks so much for all the reassurance, everyone! It is definitely something that has worried me of late.
