Commentary Is It Really Needed?

idk anout youtube itself but if you/he or anyone wants to partner a gameplay channel they need to have commentary.. ;-)

^ This was my understanding too. It's basic playthroughs with no 'originality' (put in quotes cos we all effectively do the same sort of thing) that tend to get frowned upon as it shows too much of the game to be classed as creative. Or something,lol.

It's worked for me so far! That's also what Markiplier, Tobuscus and PewdiePie do and look how successful they are!

I had this same problem starting out, too. Try to play a game you know really well. Start off explaining the game primarily, as you get better and do more takes you'll start coming up with other stuff to talk about. It just takes experience.

This isn't "turning a blind eye," this is following the law. According to the Fair Use Guidelines, "Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research."

If you don't do commentary you will not fall under this law, which means the video game company can and probably will take down the video.

Well ur content will get a copyright strike when yu have no commentary So yes it IS needed and if ya want to join a gaming network then yu DO NEED commentary But commentarys are pretty fun to do ^_^
