Commentary and Editing Style Review

DaRealApollo

Loving YTtalk
I was wondering if my commentary is entertaining to listen to or just watch in general. Even if you think it's not the best, what do you think of my editing style? Does the way that I edit my audio and video make my content enjoyable in any way? Also, I'm offering to return the favor to anyone that critique my channel in an actually meaningful way, so to anyone that reviews, I'll review any particular aspect of your channel that you want me to. Thanks to those who help.

Honestly everything is pretty good! I'm gonna drop some pros and cons for you
Pros:
-Audio is pretty good (there's always room to improve but it depends if you can afford it).
-Video quality is great
-Humor is great

Cons:
-Thumbnails could benefit from bigger fonts so people can see it better
-Your commentaries could use some music in the background to make it a bit more interesting for the viewer
-A bit too much dead noise (no commentary) in some of your let's play videos. Just try running through and cutting some of those parts out in your software or just try keeping constant commentary when recording

All in all, just keep doing what you're doing! It's obviously been working so far c:

I liked the Pros and Cons list you laid out for me, so I'll return the favor.

Pros:
-High quality equipment all around, no need to fix anything in that respect at the moment.
-Consistent and well-designed thumbnails for each of your series with prominent episode numbers shown
-A more thought-out and smart sense of humor, one that doesn't revolve around screaming nonsense for the world to see

Cons:
-With your style of comedy, one would have to stick with a video to be pulled into a video, so intros aren't fully grabbing, but this isn't a major problem
-A good amount of empty space, but that's purely because it takes tons of effort to have a full game let's play with no empty audio

Also, not a con, but it's cool to see that you're a Creatures fan.

I really enjoyed your "DUMB SMART KIDS" video. It reminded me a little of what high school was like when I went. I also loved the gameplay. One bad thing was at one point i felt like you were a little too close to the mic, not sure if it was intentional or not but i had to turn down the volume on my laptop lol.

It was probably just my gain was too high, I never have a good gauge as to how loud to make my videos.

DrunkenGeekShow:

Pros:
-I like the idea of your show, I think of it as a non-censored Good Mythical Morning, so please keep that aspect.
-The camera is on a tripod. You have no idea how much of a luxury that is on the internet.
-You start each show with an intent rather than ad-libbing each episode, which again, is a luxury on the internet.

Cons:
-The camera is 480p. I know you know you could improve your quality and you just aren't willing to spend the money now, so I won't rub it in or go on about it.
-The Blue Snowball is on the table. It's no monumental issue, but if you had a mic stand not on the table, it wouldn't me so loud or obnoxious every time you bump the table or set something down.

Other than what I listed, I think your concept is great and with practice and consistency you should have no problem growing your channel.

Thanks Apollo! A more adult (uncensored) version of GMM is kind of what we were aiming for! We really like their format and how it seems like more of a sit down and talk kind of show (if that makes sense). We wanted to kind of emulate that, but make it our own by making a few changes.Since we are just starting out we didn't want to spend a whole lot on a camera so we used a DSLR camera that is a few years old to film. The mic is on the table more for looks than anything else....well except we don't know what else to do with it since we film with a somewhat noisy background. Thanks for reviewing.
