Closing My Gaming Channel

Yup thats right, i'm closing it because i don't enjoy making gaming related videos, i'd rather make more drawing or heck even animation, mixed with a few gaming videos. Thats where my love is, I don't even care about my gaming channel anymore, and i plan to change the name anyways.

Tell me what you guys think before i pull the plug.

Thanks :).

Hi Matt,

I watched a couple of the videos on your channel and I want to give you my honest thoughts. From what I have seen you definitely have talents, here is what I liked: Your character, you seem to have a friendly honest compassionate character; I like your artwork a lot and I like listening to your voice. I definitely think that you have the talent to make a youtube channel with broad appeal.

However I think you would have to change quite a lot. If I were you I would try to make content that is more suited to your talents. Honestly I don't think 'let's plays' are for you. First of all, let's plays are a very difficult content type to start a channel with. There is a lot of competition in that segment, you need to bring a lot to the table and you need to get lucky. An essential part of a good let's play video is the character of the player. With let's plays, the character is were the entertainment value comes from. To do those well you need a very engaging character, usually that means very outgoing, funny, expressive, ad rem and assertive. From what I have seen of you you have other qualities. I'd say your character and voice might be more suited to 'how to', tutorial style videos. I think you would also do well as a vlogger, as you seem to have some depth of character. I also think that your artwork is quite amazing and may be your true passion.

I hope some of these comments were helpful, good luck with your channel!

I'd have to agree with what Kelkschiz has said. The LP market is so saturated its scary. The only way to get ahead in that market is to really make a fake character IMO, unless your true personality is that way. You also gotta find your niche in the market as well. That takes some experimentation.

Dear Kelkschiz

I thank you so much for your kind words, Its very difficult for me to express myself 100%, i've had this for quite some time, the easiest way to express myself is through my art, and i will be making a video explaining the situation and a new channel because i feel like restarting and making a vlog/art channel would be really good for me plus a few gaming videos wouldn't hurt would it ?

I've been wanting to get feedback for quite some time, its very difficult to get someone to sit down and look at your stuff. It means a lot that you came to see my channel, i'd personally like to expand on giving my own story for my own cartoon characters, based on my own gaming experience and popular let's players. That's where i find, most of my inspiration comes from. I want to feed my artist side, and i didn't know that my voice would be more suited for tutorials. It makes sense when you mention it and after watching myself so many times.

Thanks again man !

I'm starting to agree that there are a LOT of let's players, I don't believe in being fake,it makes me feel incredibly guilty. I feel like showing my true self has a sense of uniqueness to it, and if i ripped myself apart, well that wouldn't be right to me or the people watching. To me the process of drawing is a lot more fulfilling than let's play videos.

Thanks for leaving some feedback it really means a lot :)!

Hey Matt, my opinion is just one opinion. An artist always knows best himself. If you want to do Let's Plays, that is all that matters.

It was my pleasure reviewing your channel.

I suppose you might want to show your true self, but what I meant by making a character is for your LP's you make something that is completely not you, and give yourself a different name (other than your real one). Then for any other videos you can be yourself. Unless you can take what makes your personality good, and ramp it up, I don't see another way.
