CLOSED - Getting discouraged and want to quit

Hi all,

I have been posting my vids to youtube for 5 weeks, I have 16 videos, only 3 made it over 100 views, the rest are in the 30's 40's . I have 23 subs, I have twitter and I get no likes, no comments and no retweets, I have 82 followers there. just seems like every video I put up will max out at 50 views. I dont know what im doing wrong, I think my content is entertaining. I just dont know how someone making a video of a cold can bring in 200,000 views and my exploration videos bring in 50. Please help.

I don't know why your getting discouraged from that, thats good where your at. 30-50 views a video for 23 subs is a good thing! The reason people can get 200,000 views is because they probably already have an active fan base. Since your just starting, it'll be hard to get that fan base but if you can figure out the youtube algorithm, you will be fine! Just keep doing what your doing now, and you'll soon see results.

Thanks, the algorithm is so hard to follow and understand, My views to subs is great, Am I on par for where Iam after 5 weeks? How do I learn the algorithm?
 
I think you're above average for view to sub ratios. I have 738 subs currently, and my views are 10% to 20% within the first few days which works out to be 150 views-ish. If I had your stats, I would be getting 1500 views, lol :D

The beginning is SOOOOOO hard. It really takes patience and dedication. If you're content is good, it will gain traction, but it's like a snowball, it starts of small and grows from there.

lol thanks I didnt know that. I am trying to put up good content, is having a professional intro and outro a must have? My subs havent moved much in the last week. of the 23, 6 are family. I am reading up and it seems Youtube rewards the big and want to crush the smaller channels

I think Intros should be short and sweet. My previous one was 10 seconds. I've recently started doing one that is overlayed on my footage and is very brief. The outro I don't think is important at all. If people stick around that long, you don't want to distract them from the End Cards that will hopefully bait them into watching another video.

I'm currently an occasional vlogger, and get some good support from Vlogger groups on Facebook and somewhat Reddit. In time I plan to lauch a niche channel. Niche channels are easier to grow, IMO.
