Clickbait?

I believe if the clickbait has something to do with the video I am alright with it, however if it has nothing to do with it at all I am not a fan of clickbait.

Clickbait is the best type of advertisement. I don't agree with it if like Ewan said it doesn't have anything to do with the video but if it does then it's fine. Clickbait is even used by big companies on some of their ads, for example, I can't believe it! this was the title of an advertisement campaign started by a small business owner in the UK who sold cheap computer parts. By putting I can't believe this over the top of a blurred picture people were instantly curious. So clickbait, I think personally is just another way of advertising your content as long as it is relevant.

I agree with the previous answers !! I think that clickbait is nothing bad unless it has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in the video. You are not forcing anyone to click on the video and today you won't get anything out of just people clicking. They need to stay so the important thing is that the content and the title have something to do with one another. :) What do you think about it??

There have been some discussion on youtube about clickbait, and I want to know your opinions about it!

I think it depends.. for example I had someone comment on a Doctor checkup video I did. I later changed to title to Doc Mcstuffins to see if I could gain more traffic, the thumbnail remained the same though, my son was dressed up like a power ranger giving me a check up.. someone said that this was click bait as he wasnt dressed up like doc mcstuffins, he was pretending to be but we didnt have the costume. Made me really upset, so I did changed the title back.. but to me is wasnt click bait, kids arent going to read the titles, the thumbnail was exactly what the video was about, I was just trying to rank it higher..

Clickbate is an interesting topic. For me, if I watch a video with a clickbate-y title, and it doesn't relate with the actual video, I don't like it. Now, if there's a video with a clickbate-y title, and it relates to the video, then it depends on what the video is about.

It's like any marketing tactic...it works for a while, and eventually the public will get wise to it and stop clicking through. Right now, it's used in a way that gets the vulnerable and the young (and YouTube is run by the eyeballs of kids, let's be honest), but sooner or later, it's going to stop working.
