Children exposed to horror film ads on YouTube

Television stations would not allow ads like this to air except during adult oriented programming. I would think a gaming channel is inherently a younger demographic.
I know trying to filter content for children is nearly impossible but I think YouTube should still make an effort.
 
I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for horror movies lately and I never really thought anything of it, the only thing I thought is I want to see this but that’s probably because I watch a lot of horror movies even when I was a kid I would watch them and go to haunted houses in October. I remember watching this one horror movie on tv about this doll house coming to life and it scared me so bad that I covered my doll house up and put some my dolls in my closet, it didn’t help I was always afraid of some dolls especially the old time porcelain ones. The same day I watched that on tv i went doll shopping with my mom at this lady’s house who sells dolls because my mom use to love collecting porcelain dolls and I hated going in the lady’s she had old porcelain dolls she was selling all over her house.
 
For once, I can't really blame this one on YouTube. As much as YouTube's been at fault this past year, it's not their fault that an advertiser ran a marketing campaign partially directed at the wrong audience. Throw the movie studio under the bus for this one, not YouTube. Now if the ad did appear on the YouTube Kids app, I'd feel much differently, but it didn't.
 
What? No mention of responsibility on the parent's part? If the parents are logged into their account, advertisers and YT think that a suitable viewer is watching.
 
In my opinion, I think if you’re too worried about your kid seeing that, they shouldn’t be allowed on the Internet. It’s too easy for them to come across things of that nature online, and if it really bothers you that much you shouldn’t allow your child to use the Internet. I mean I guess an ad like that shouldn’t be on a video targeted towards kids but homophobic ads shouldn’t be on LGBTQ+ videos either and yet they are. The Internet isn’t a place for the sensitive. Build a bridge and get over it
