Cheap mic, good quality?

That's a good idea! I'll be sure to remember that![DOUBLEPOST=1457915933,1457915856][/DOUBLEPOST]
Just trying to create a short cut so that I don't have to go through the effort of syncing audio and video together. Guess I have no choice then :p

depends how you record I suppose, if you're using a phone then yeah, you'll have to because of the phones mic. but if you're using a web cam you wouldn't have to.

No I'm using a digital camera- by no means a fancy one, and my audio sounds muffled and sometimes makes a sound like I bumped into the mic when I didn't. So, that's why I need a mic :P

We've got plenty of threads on this topic already, if you'd like to check out the "Video Editing, Recording, Software & Hardware" section of the forum.

Yeah you're kind of in the same position as a phone, I'm pretty sure your camera wouldn't be able to recognize the microphone, so you'd end up having to record them separate.

I'm also in need of a mic. I record from my phone and I play a game so there is a lot of popping because I'm tapping on the phone a lot. I just ordered a "Stony-Edge SIMPLE LAV- MOBILE Condenser Lavalier/Lapel Microphone" from amazon(wouldn't let me link it) to plug directly into my phone so I wont have to do any extra editing. The reviews are great and lots of videos out there comparing to other mics.

Before you go spending your money on any mic. Check some lavalier mic reviews, they usually go for around 5-10$ and have awesome sound quality for their price. (no kidding, I watched one of those mics' review and I was surprised by the sound quality that it gives for the price)

Also, a friend told me about a program (im 80% sure its called pluraleyes) which can autosync mic and camera audio, if that helps! Haven't tried it myself, so dont have more details sorry!

I suppose it depends on your definition of cheap.

I'm a big fan of spending a little extra on audio gear; the way I see it, cameras come and go. SD, HD, 4k, DSLR, there are so many trends that it makes it not worth it to drop a bunch of money on a camera. Audio, however is pretty consistent. So if you're willing to save up a bit, you can get some gear that will last you years.

My first microphone was a Azden SGM 1x, and a XLR adapter to plug it straight into the camera. I think it was about $150. While that seems like a lot of money, I have used the mic for everything for years, and I can borrow/rent/buy to upgrade the system as I get more money.

So while you could buy a snowball, I'd say save up for another few weeks and see if you can get your hands on a nicer microphone. Just be sure to do your research so you don't end up with something you don't want.
