I Love YTtalk
My audio isn't the best, and I was wondering, what would be a good mic to start out with that is cheap? I don't really have the funds to go all out right now.
That is in no way cheap for me in this point in time haha Nice mic though.[DOUBLEPOST=1457914937,1457914832][/DOUBLEPOST]How cheap? A blue yeti usb microphone is the typical starting point![]()
usb or micro usb? I know that I could hook it up with a micro usb, but if it's just a regular usb, I would have no idea how to do my audio apart from the camera. I'm such a newbie.[DOUBLEPOST=1457915114][/DOUBLEPOST]The blue snowballs a good starting studio quality mic. I currently use it myself, they sell it on amazon for around $50ish

If you can't afford even 20+ dollars this is your best choice imo.
You can find them for 5 bucks easy

So I would record separately and then erase my camera's audio and put the microphone's audio in its place then? For simple recording with a USB mic, download Audacity, plug your mic in and set the input in audacity to your microphone. Then record for a test, make sure you don't peak then go from there. Any USB microphone should work, just the more money the higher the quality, but you can get good quality out of a cheap one if you play around with the audio in post![]()
Yeah. Make sure you clap before you start the video so that you have a clear spike in the audio in order to match them up easily. I went for so long without doing that and it made editing a pain!So I would record separately and then erase my camera's audio and put the microphone's audio in its place then?
it's just a USB, not really sure how many mics you can get with a micro but you maybe able to find a adapater usb to micro usb. but i'm not quite sure if it will suffer quality loss. That is in no way cheap for me in this point in time haha Nice mic though.[DOUBLEPOST=1457914937,1457914832][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's not a horrible idea. Probably better than the audio quality my camera is giving me. I just wouldn't know how to do the audio apart from my video and put it together, but that's an idea!
That's a good idea! I'll be sure to remember that![DOUBLEPOST=1457915933,1457915856][/DOUBLEPOST]Yeah. Make sure you clap before you start the video so that you have a clear spike in the audio in order to match them up easily. I went for so long without doing that and it made editing a pain!
Just trying to create a short cut so that I don't have to go through the effort of syncing audio and video together. Guess I have no choice thenit's just a USB, not really sure how many mics you can get with a micro but you maybe able to find a adapater usb to micro usb. but i'm not quite sure if it will suffer quality loss.
