Channel Tags vs Video Tags, how do they work together?

OK, try this.
1) Go to your channel
2) At the top there will be subscribers, views, video manager. Select Video Manager.
3) On the left you now see a panel with Video Manager, Channel Settings, Analytics, etc. Select Channel Settings.
4) Select Advanced and it should be there.

Noq i see it but i not sure how it works either haha

Channel tags (keywords) and the video tags will both help in the search & related video results. For example, if someone searches for channels on "How to tutorials" in the search section, most likely Howcast & ExpertVillage will pop up first but if your channels keywords are related (how,to,tutorials,howto,how-to) your channel will come up somewhere in the results "near" the top hopefully. Same is true with your videos, when a watched video finishes playing related videos pop up. If your video is tagged properly then there is a chance that your video will be shown in the related video section.

However, you can also hurt yourself with too many tags/keywords. Example, lets say someone is watching a video that is tagged (how-to, how, cook spaghetti, recipe, tutorials) and when the video is finished playing related videos will be displayed. If your video is tagged (how-to, how, cook, spaghetti, recipe, tutorials, dogs, cats, boobs, breast, sexy ladies) then there will be no chance your video will be displayed in the recommended or related video section.

I see, thanks for the info! I never searched for channels really so this is kind of new to me. Maybe that's just me though. Basically if I'm looking for something on YouTube I just go straight to YouTube and use the top search bar. So is there another area to search for channels then or is it all encompassed in that main search bar?

I did not realize how the video tags help your vid appear in the related section...that is very interesting and good to know as well, thanks!
