Channel Name question

It's impossible. It does actually say this when you delete a channel; once the channel name is gone it'll be a good while before it becomes available again

Well, I remember when I first had a channel I wanted FrankieGirlGamer, but it was taken so I had something like xfrankiegirlgamerx instead. Then in December last year, I registered FrankieGirlGamer. It was about two years (I think) between the two times?

It was around that but I can't remember exactly. I just remember that at one point it was taken, and then it wasn't, and it was about two years. It MIGHT have been around the time when YouTube did that big purge, when they removed loads of old/dead users, so maybe that freed it up?

I didn't know they released names back into the wild again. Always gave the hint that they are permanently gone. *Comes back after some research* Found this;

Closing your YouTube channel will permanently delete your data including videos, messages, comments, and your channel. You will not be able to open a new channel with the same URL.

I'd link to the youtube page but it seems i can't do that. Just google search 'Delete youtube accounts'

Seems like now the email address and other data is tied in with names permanently so there is no way to release the names back out there for other people to use.
