Channel Name: Does it Matter?

It could only do so much, at the end it always comes down to content. But of course, let's say an "Ivan" would be much better subbed than an "iVAn12312381923"
 
I believe it matters alot!
Friend 1: So who have you subbed?
Friend 2: XxXDr0pShotzZzXxX
Friend 1: Who?

You need a nice simple, but catchy name :)
 
I think the Channel's name just account a little bit. Basically it tells the strangers what is your channel about, so maybe it can make first impression about your channel. Well ... that's my opinion ...
 
Channel name and branding in general is important... but not critical. Sort of a "1%" sort of thing. It might give you a 1% boost in growth every month or year... but focus on what will give you a biggest boost in growth, like video quality or effort put into editing.

It is also interesting to note it is possible to get your name changed. Gotta be big enough to have your network request it from google... I'm hoping to get mine changed to drop the 5 on the end. :)
 
I think it matters quite a bit, seeing as you're going to market yourself on it and it'll be one of the first things people take into consideration whether or not to click your videos. I'd honestly not click to watch gaming videos by a name like xXxCoDGamur4LifexXx or beauty tips from HotGirl21, fictive examples.
