(Channel Feedback)What am I doing wrong and how can I Improve?

I've been at it for a year, 100 videos and going, 44 subs and it feels like I've grown very slowly.

Someof the viewerbase I gained was through my normal video format which is usually long for RPG's and short for other games, most of them through gateway videos such as my ROM Corruptions. I've even run pretty decent SEO for a lot of my videos and it just feels like I tried everything possible and I'm given no visibility with my content or my content is just not interesting enough.

I'm mostly wondering what can be improved in terms of everything. Maybe my commentary is best suited for a certain genre, if so, what? I feel like it's the games I play but I'm not sure

Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this.

So, take what I have to say with a grain of salt, but I'm not successful either. But looking at what you posted recently, without even watching, it's actually kind of easy to see why.
You have videos about old games which don't seem to be netting too many views... Maybe 3 for one you posted 2 days ago,.
Then one about donald trump you posted the day before. It has nearly 70.
Maybe it's just what you're making videos about? Perhaps try another niche if spyro (or whatever) isn't working?
People are loving donald trump videos at the moment.. Make content people want to see.. Trending or not much of at the moment.
Hope it helped but again, I'm no pro haha

^ In my opinion don't listen to this.

I've noticed that following trends will gain you subs but will dwindle as time passes. So some channels can have 1000 subs but only get your amount of views.

I got semi messed up by this as I posted an undertale video that had over 400,000 views (now unlisted) and helped me get my channel going.
I still get over 100 views each video but it's pretty garbage with 600+ subs

Older games do well if done correctly, let's playing them is very hard to accomplish as there are trained professionals in improv doing it now. (Arin and Danny from GameGrumps has a background in improv and do a lot of retro/older games) so either you need to stand out as much as them or figure out a different style.

I'd suggest editing your video and adding the best part.
Maybe get a better background as well and add some thumbnails.

I started trying out this style with my own show called PlayitGrgak and people seemed to like it but it's my fanbase so idk it could be biased.

Either way hope this helped at all!

xoxo

Put more work into the thumbnails. Edit your videos so that you get the best moments in but not to the point to where the viewers don't know what the heck is going on. Maybe mix it up with new games? Maybe set the retro games for specific days and make them a series. For example retro games only on Tuesdays and Thursdays and name the series something like Throwback Thursday Gaming and Throwback Tuesday Gaming. Having a schedule would help your channel. You have good content and honestly with just a bit of editing and good taste with simple sound effects/ video effects your channel would be golden.

Thanks for the feedback! I just recently recorded an LP on a horror video and I'm going to try and add some extra polish to see if everybody likes the format!
