Changing channel username and url

WhatsUpMark

BreadFarking Good!
Hello YTTalkers! Recently, I just realized that my channel name "TheMarkSquared" shares the same name with a company called "MarkSQuaredPRC." This has been troubling me, and I'm afraid to face any legal copyright (?) issues. This is my plan, but I want to ask for you opinion.

For the username:
1.) Link YT Channel with Google+
2.) Change my Google+ name with my new username (preferably Mark Francis or something) Thus, the name will be carried over to my YouTube channel.

As for the URL:
1.) Acquire new YT channel and call it "MarkFrancis"
2.) Make it a partner channel through RPM, and redirect it to my main channel.

Number two is where I'm having problems. Is there any other way to redirect my channel?

Thanks!

Well ask RPM for a direct URL like I have done with: youtube.com/josplays
You need to make an account with that name. It need to be yours.

Thanks for the reply bro! Yup, that's what I'm planning to do :)). What will I tell RPM exactly? I want my new channel to be partnered so that I could get the redirecting options? I have another question, if you don't mind. Did the change affect your views at all? Thanks!

No the redirecting did not affect views at all. Now when I want to share my channel I just give them josplays because it's shorter and easier to remember. Just make a channel with the name you want and ask RPM to redirect the new channel link to your partnered channel.
Just ask them for a vanity url.
