Capture video & sound at the same time - two channels

iirc in DxTory there is the option to downsample and record everything at 720p.
Try recording to your HDD and not your SSD?
Ah :) Might try that.

29.97 is fine, it's what YouTube is at anyway, it won't really accept anything higher, also I don't suggest a SSD to record to, they're not much faster than HDDs for sequential write, they're grand for random access, like games and Operating Systems. ALso what "lag" are you experiencing? I suggest you cap it at 60 for a game like that, if the game hasn't go a FPS capper built in just use DXTory's..
Hmm, ye, but I get some random framedrops after 5-7 minutes of recording when recording to an HDD, don't know why. But after 5-7 minutes, I get these down to 0 framedrops every 10 second.
The lag i experience is that you can see the motions aren't going smooth, but you can see them going frame for frame. Like the video is being played in to low FPS.
Don't know any better way to describe it, you can see it on the 'let's check it out - 9.03m' video I have to see if the explanation ain't good enough.

EDIT: Suddenly remembered that I tried the Lagarith codec once. When I was going to record Richard Burns Rally ( a game from 2004). And using that codec, made the game encounter a problem and had to be shut down.

I can see it quite vividly, and looking at the GFX the requirements are quite higher than most, what codec are you using? Try the default DXTory one with the quality set to "Medium". ;) I'll buy the game tomorrow and try it myself, see if I run into any problems.

Damn! You don't have to buy the game and test yourself! =) I really appreciate you helping out, but buying it yourself (even though it's cheap, and 50% goes to charity)!
I realized I set the quality to "true". That might be a bit overkill? And what about the write speed in 'folder settings'?

Hiyah! :)

So, I've figured out that it's a good thing to have game sound and commentary on two audio channels, makes it easier to fix the sound. However, I haven't found a recording program that does this 'good enough' for me.
dxTory makes the video lag slightly, while fraps takes all sound and push it into one channel!
I've considered using Elgato, but not sure how that works out.

Right now, I'm using fraps to get video and game sound, and then goldwave to record commentary.

Any ideas? :)

Simply try Smartpixel software, it has a PIP mode to capture your webcam and microphone simultaneously.
