My nephew is wanting a capture card for christmas. He wants to use it with his nintendo switch and laptop to record videos for his you tube channel. (i think that is what he is saying lol) This is not in my area of knowledge lol. Can someone point me in the right direction and What are some recomendations. Thanks.

A capture card is an external piece of hardware you can plug into a system to record the output footage. There are a bunch of them out there with different specs and limitations.

I use a MiraBox CaptureCard HSV3211 card. It includes a loop-out port so you can keep playing the game on a tv while still recording it. You'll need to get a capture card, a couple hdmi cables, and make sure you have the right specs for the PC end to be able to handle the video writing.
