Can't upload GIF header?

I have an idea..

When I first tried to upload my first GIF banner it had that 'Failed to upload' thing even after you could preview it.

I went into photoshop and deleted every second frame (taking the gif from 20 to 10 frames), then it worked just fine!

I've also seen this on another site, apparently this feature doesn't work with gifs that are quite long or with lots of frames?
Not sure, but hopefully that helped!

This guy is a genius! For me it had to be under 30 frames to upload properly. Thank you Tom!

Does anyone have any more information or know of any more fixes? My initial gif was made of 12 frames and was only 95Kb but it didn't work. I reduced it to 8 frames and it still won't work. What's going on!? Does my channel have to be somewhat popular?

Nope I have tried different sizes, browsers, frames and nothing. And now our banners looks zoomed in for other people. great

Having the exact same problems with ours. Did manage to upload our Youtube Animated Banner to our Google+ Page, so maybe the youtube side will get fixed here soon!

I think google+ doesn't have any size limits. I just uploaded a 25mb gif and it was totally fine with it.

I was talking to a friend and he suggested that maybe YouTube are fading this feature in. Do you think it might only be available for American YouTubers at the moment? Is anyone's working from the UK?

Maybe youtube is simply having a s**t with, since millions of people are trying to uploaded large size animated banners at the same time?
