Can't decide whether to game/vlog or make rants..

Do everything you enjoy, in other words, all of the above. Don't limit your channel for the sake of limiting your channel. You don't have to have one set kind of video. Do anything and everything you think would be fun to do and entertaining. In a sense, it's kind of like having a 'hybrid' channel. ;)
 
Why choose?
Lot's of people have separate linked channels just for that very reason, to appeal to the masses and make what they like when they like. :)
 
wow, im in the exact same situation, i just recently made a prank/vlog channel separate from my gaming one because i knew it wouldn't be recieved well and i didn't mind ppl in my school watching my pranks but they'd think i was retarted if they watched one of my gaming videos... im always yelling and excited for no reason lol.

tbh i think there are 329048329-483029 too much gaming channels to go anywhere with it but i just make the videos because its fun. Try and balance the two I'd say. But MysteryGuitarMan said it best, no one's going to care about your vlogs unless you're known for something else .. :/
 
Maybe you could make a gaming channel and a vlogging channel? Film some videos for both and then see which one you like best? :) Lots of people have two channels! :D
