Canon T3I

In what way is it not the way you want it? Possible better lighting might be required, Manual is usually used in film making but this is not an option obviously when there is no one to manage the camera when you're recording.
but in automatic it never focuses on my face

t3i does not do autofocus during video, which of the basic lenses do you have? I recommend you read up all the basic theory behind video production, camera settings, ISO, all that jazz. You'll gain a good understanding of how things work and you'll be able to make your videos look better. Once you're advanced enough, flash Magic Lantern and or Tragic Lantern and enjoy the larger amount of control you have :)

I have a rebel T3 and for vlogs/sit down music-y videos I find autofocus works somewhat better than manual. If you download the EOS Utility you can do remote shooting from your PC and use that to focus on yourself and get all your settings right. Also, lighting makes a world of difference. For me, filming in sunlight makes everything look a thousand times better.

Your new video looks out of focus to me, I highly recommend getting yourself a remote control so you can focus on yourself easily as you film. As Styxie said look into learning about ISO, white balance etc where possible keep your ISO fairly low around 100-200, the higher the number the more grainy your video will be.

Hey, so I use a canon T3I for filming with the basic lens it came with, my videos just don't come out the way I want them to sometimes, Like is manual or automatic focusing better? Also is there any lens that are better for filming with?
It's truly about the lens. Sigma lenses of different sizes on amazon are cheaper and just as efficient, but still quite expensive. I currently use a 50mm which means I have to back up the camera a ton but get a better depth of field (blur behind me).[DOUBLEPOST=1412689778,1412689691][/DOUBLEPOST]

And absolutely, light is critical to get good picture. You can film an HD video with an iPhone if you do it in the right lighting. That's why many YouTubers use the low-light lenses, it's just easier.

The Frames Per Second (FPS) You're shooting at could make a huge difference as well! I have a Canon 60D and I love to film with my nifty fifty, but depending on what I'm doing I'll just shoot on auto with my kit lens. The beauty is the flip back screen so at least you can see what you look like when recording!

don't film in low lighting.

don't film with a high ISO.

if you want to be in focus for a vlog, switch your lens to manual focus, turn the viewfinder towards you, zoom in all the way, and twist the focus nob until you can see the individual eyelashes on your eyes, and then zoom back out to your desired frame.
